Government Voluntary Code
Signed up to the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for prize draw operators.
What it is
You have signed up to the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for prize draw operators. Signatories commit to fair draws, player spending limits, age verification, harm monitoring, and transparent free entry routes. See who is on the signatory list.
Why we track it
The Voluntary Code is the closest thing the sector has to a recognised standard. Signing it is a public, checkable commitment to run competitions responsibly, which is why it carries real weight in the trust score.
How to earn it
- Review the code and confirm your operation meets its commitments.
- Ask DCMS to add you as a signatory, as set out on gov.uk (requests go to [email protected]).
- Once your name appears on the official signatory list, our daily check of gov.uk picks it up. If you signed under a different name from your site's brand, tell us so we can link the two.
This is one of several weighted indicators behind a site's letter grade (A+ to F). We don't publish the exact points or thresholds, but earning more indicators — and avoiding hostile T&C clauses — moves a site up the scale. See the full method on our How We Rate page.
Our ratings are based on publicly observable criteria and data analysis. This is not a guarantee of legitimacy, prize fulfilment, or financial security. We are not affiliated with any competition site. Always do your own research before entering competitions or spending money.
