Player Controls
Offers responsible-play features such as spending limits, opt-outs, or self-exclusion.
What it is
The site offers responsible-play tools — for example spending or entry limits, cooling-off options, or self-exclusion — that let entrants stay in control of how much they play.
Why we track it
Paid competitions can be habit-forming for a minority of players. Giving people practical ways to set limits or step away is a core part of running competitions responsibly, and it is a commitment made under the Voluntary Code.
How to earn it
- Offer spending or entry limits players can set themselves.
- Provide a self-exclusion or account-pause option.
- Make these controls easy to find in the account area, and signpost responsible-play support.
This is one of several weighted indicators behind a site's letter grade (A+ to F). We don't publish the exact points or thresholds, but earning more indicators — and avoiding hostile T&C clauses — moves a site up the scale. See the full method on our How We Rate page.
Our ratings are based on publicly observable criteria and data analysis. This is not a guarantee of legitimacy, prize fulfilment, or financial security. We are not affiliated with any competition site. Always do your own research before entering competitions or spending money.
